Reports and metrics

The operator portal shows what happens to your stations once they are in the goodcharge app: what drivers report about them, how often they are viewed, and how reliably your code keeps their data fresh.

Reports from drivers

In the app, a driver can report a problem with a station and pick what is wrong:

ProblemMeaning
Wrong priceThe price shown does not match the price charged. The price the driver saw is attached.
Out of orderThe station or a charging point does not work.
No accessThe station cannot be reached: closed car park, barrier, blocked bay.
OtherAnything else, described in the driver's note.

Reports are anonymous: you see the date, the problem, the note and the price seen, never who sent it. To limit abuse, a driver can send at most 3 reports per station per day, and goodcharge also caps every station at 20 reports per hour in total across all devices.

Handling a report

Open Reports in the portal. A badge next to it counts new reports, and the Stations page lists a New reports count for each station.

  1. Acknowledge a report to say you have seen it.
  2. Resolve it once the problem is fixed, with an optional note on what was done. The note is for you and goodcharge; drivers never see it.
  3. Reopen a resolved report if the problem comes back.

goodcharge sees every report and the status you set, and moderates abusive reports on its side.

Station metrics

Each station page shows the last 30 days:

  • Views in the app and routes started toward the station.
  • Recommended / not recommended votes.
  • Requests accepted / rejected by the write API. A rejected request is one the API refused as invalid, so the station turned red.
  • Time with fresh data: every 5 minutes goodcharge checks whether the station sent data in the previous 15 minutes. This share is the proportion of checks that found fresh data. It is the figure to watch: below 100% the app showed your station's occupancy as unknown for part of the time. See Keeping occupancy fresh.

Views, routes and votes only count drivers whose privacy choices in the app allow usage measurement, so they are lower than the real figures. Days are counted in UTC.
